In return, those Deviants featured will have to create their own Feature Journal, placing me in the first slot; leading to a total of 15 Featured Deviants. Subscribers use thumbnails. Unsubscribers can link to a deviation.
Stole this from ~ZombifiedArbok's journal, largely as an excuse to feature people. BECAUSE I CAN. This is more about me having an exuse to feature people than free publicity for myself, so contrary to instructions above feel free to use the first slot for someone other than myself.

[link] =A Girl in a Bonnet=
Delightfully classic and gringe-crawly at the same time. The only real lace the backdrop, but the entire thing manages to look so frothy and lacy and yet wiry at once. Every time I see this one I squee a little. Not afraid to admit it.
[link] =Number 5=
It's simple, it's red, it's snake. This is one of my favorite parts of unshaded monochrome pieces; the use of simple lines to convey complex value. Delicious.
[link] =And a Bag of Pretzels=
SO SMOOTH AND BOUNCY AND BRIGHT!
[link] =No Relation to Voldy=
Cringe-inducing Harry Potter title reference aside. Batshit insane fangy snake people make me happy deep inside. Also, it's just plain awesome from-scratch ms paint pixel work, and that doesn't really get enough credit. I CANNOT do this kind of art and I have worlds of respect for those patient enough to master it.
2.
I've been a fan of Fish for years, and choosing JUST four pictures to feature from her gallery is like trying to decide which four of your various essential life-granting organs and squishy parts you want to keep. She's a great photographer and her drawn art has this delicious smooth style. So GOGOGOGO.
[link] =A Housewife's Best Friend=
An excellent example of Awesomery In Advertising. Best, most convincing Teflon adspot EVER. I'D BUY IT.
[link] =Another Rabbit=
'Just another guy with rabbit ears', or a delightfully rangy jackrabbit man who appears to be made entirely of piercings and caramel? A simple but nonetheless nice example of how nicely and richly Fish's colors dominate her pictures. I still have not figured out what actor this guy reminds me of and it drives me nuts
[link] =Tactile=
It looks like exactly what the title says. The lack of 'inked' lines that usually make Fish's colored pictures POP so wonderfully also lends itself to delightfully smooth black-and-white schemes, and this looks smooth and fluffy in all the right places. Also, I love Remi's design, he's quite adorable (I can't bring myself to find him remotely scary).
[link] =Humans Are Always Alone 8=
Part of a recent series of photos, this one has to be my favorite of the bunch. The feeling of lonlieness and solitude is strong with this one.
3.
[link] =No Future=
FACT:Any picture of Isis automatically makes me flip out like a fanboy with a crush. Which I am. Seriously though, I like this one; she really does look like she's saying something all cryptic-like and generally getting her fortuner on. AWWWRIIIIGHT.
[link] =Lovely Rivalry=
See above comme-- No no, seriously. Despite the fact that "everyone with a 'yami'" usually makes me want to yank my hair out in frustration, something about the character designs and comp on this one makes me love it fiercely. And they both just look so damn evil.
[link] =Undinemon=
It's old, but it delights me so! This picture always brings a nostalgic smile to my face. Ah, for the good old days, of epic play-by-mail Digimon roleplays full of mindfuck, fanservice, and the occaisonal maiming!
[link] =Lexxie=
Picking just four from Pluie's gallery is also really hard, just because A)I love legs, and Plu draws 'em looooooong, and B)she comes up with THE MOST weird and fascinating costume and clothing designs. Seriously. Don't know where she gets these. This is but one of many very groovy examples in her gallery.
4.
[link] =Some Cliche Apocalyptic Poetry=
I swear this is not just here because it was done for my birthday. Not only is it Darkness fanart, it is fucking awesome zombie goat army of minions fanart, and it's done incredibly well. Goatface and company are in top form here. If there's better fanart of these guys on the internet, I sure as hell haven't seen it. And, fanboy that I am, I've looked.
[link] =One-Off Chara Hell=
In which some of GX's wonderful collection of crazy, hot older men--none of whom get nearly enough fanart--are gathered together in RAINBOW HEAD SHOTS. If bright green vaguely shoujo-manga looking Cobra is not epic, I don't know what is.
[link] =This Is Not a Meme=
Just about every answer in this meme fills me inordinate amounts of glee. Particularly the large amounts of TRUEMAN.
[link] =Chibi of Angst D:=
This is the most adorable thing ever. Especially chibi!Dark Archetype, which will suck your soul out throuh your EYES.
5.
BET YOU DIDN'T THINK I'D STICK YOU HERE, DID YOU??? Try Toaster-san, for all your fanfiction needs!
[link] =Run=
Something I've noticed about SOTET fanfiction--a lot of it is either SUPER DRAMATIC!!! or badly written angsty romance. This is neither. It's just a nice, quiet piece, with some nice, quiet character and culture examination. Stories like this delight me far more than the game itself did.
[link] =The Devil Is All In=
Delicious little Apollow Justice fic that perfectly fills in what I saw as a bizarre hole in the titular attorney's characterization as I played though the game. Not only that, but everyone is in-character for it (even Gavin, so often fudged, is completely and creepily spot-on). Usually the lack of...uhm...attorney-ness...in Ace Attorney fanfiction turns me off to it, but this is such a nice little cutout view of a moment beyond the courts, and how much such a moment can influence them, that I have to love it anyway.
[link] =Saving You Saves Me=
The link is actually just to the prologue of what promises to be a crazy cultist clusterfuck of epic proportions. Technically in at least the germinating stage roughly since Toaster-san and I watched our first ten episodes of GX, I've had the singular pleasure of being able to watch what was once the joking idea of a romp twist and mutate into this lurking monster that is FINALLY (if slowly) being written out in full-form. Any story that starts with a prophet getting his skull pounded in, you KNOW it's only going to get weirder. Some shifts into alternate continuities are great for keeping people guessing what kind of curveball will be thrown next. I admit, I'm eagerly waiting for the game of Marco Polo I know is coming. Definitely not for the faint of stomach or people who want all their answers right in the first chapter, though.
[link] =Happy Birthday, You're Crazy=
FFFFFFF. IT STILL MAKES ME LAUGH. YGO crack fic parodying YGO fanfiction in general. "I'd know the tops of those breasts anywhere--that's Mai!" and the Millenium Muffin Tin will be classics forever in my mind.
6.
I still cosplay the spirit of the Ring.
[link] =Creator of Nightmares=
Yeah, yeah--Angsty Dark Spirit Of The Ring art is SOOOO late nineties. I love the cut-and-flow of this one anyway, and the muscle work on the exposed torso makes me smiiiiile. Also, I cannot begin to express how much I admire people who can work in charcoal; I tend to drag my hands when I draw and it restricts me from the medium. Good stuff.
[link] = Profile: Skunk Bakura=
IF THIS DOES NOT MAKE YOU SNORT YOUR ORANGE JUICE, YOU HAVE NO SOUL.
.....Or possibly no orange juice.
[link] =Closer Than You'd Think=
(Self-Proclaimed) Cliche Dark/Light pic GOGOGOGO! I should probably pay more attention to the characters, but I always find myself drawn to that incredibly groovy little skullflower thinger in the middle. Awesome stuff.
[link] =Into The Night=
Like so much of Freai's stuff, it just makes me smiiiiiiile so hard. That twisted smile wins at everything. Also, for all the topless pics of him floating around the internet, no one ever draws Ryou Bakura's scars and that's a terrible thing. Here's to you, Freai, for not leaving severe traumatizing bodily harm via evil possessed cultist bling out of this.
7.
You, missy, need to draw more art for this account!
[link] =The Vain Prince=
I admit--I never went through a Sailor Moon phase. All my friends liked it, but I just never got into it no matter how they tried. BUT STUFF LIKE THIS SO IS SO GODDAMN PRETTY. This is one of those pictures that makes me look beyond liking or disliking a fandom and just love it for what it is--great art. Very, very pretty stuff; roses and ruffles EVERYWHERE. (And by the way, if you did that doujin, even I would read it)
[link] =Blossom=
Will it compromise my manliness if I admit that I love flowers? And completely envy people who can draw them well? This picture looks so soft and professional. CLAMP style looks better here than when CLAMP does it. And jeebus, that hair. GUH.
[link] =A Sketched Rose=
Everything about this Christine--from her hair to her dress--looks like it's made of wonderfully frothy lace. This is one of those pictures whose tone is perfect, and can stand as a finished piece even though it's a sketch.
[link] =Zoisite - Painting Practice=
The eyes, they steal souls! I always love seeing people put up art that's a variation from their normally posted style, just because it's so interesting to see other peoples' artistic ranges. That she can translate all delightful light fooshyness of her normal style to other works while still keeping them a distinct and different style and medium of their own is pretty damn awesome in my book.
8.
[link] = Dravian - Contest Entry=
I admit--this gallery is pretty new to me, so I wasn't entirely sure what to expect. What a neato thing to find! I love the color bleed; how absolutely toxic it looks not only in the green 'blood' but in the shading on that wicked-awesome tail. Fantastic blending and contrast. Yum.
[link] =Falling Away=
More delicious color-bleed, though more liquid and in more subdued colors. The sense of 'splash' and motion is definitely The Good Stuff, and proves that lined paper pictures are not strictly to be disregarded. Why can I not blend this smoothly?!
[link] =Mascot=
EVEN MORE fantastic color work. Fur is always really hard for me, but even with the exotic color-burn this looks completely and absolutely perfect and natural. You, miss, need to do more work with colored pencils--stat!
[link] =Sketch - Purple Sky XD=
How about this for a coloring project? I love the lines here. I find profile shots difficult to do, but this looks great. The expression suggests someone might be up to something--or just know something we don't know. Fun times!
9.
[link] =In a Buncha Ice=
First of all, this title is epic on levels I can only aspire to. I am completely serious. Second of all, just an awesome picture. It has Anzu. And ice. Both of which I love. And they're drawn well. Very well! Fffff. I have gone through like a million pictures today and I am running out of brain. This picture makes me a happy fanboy, the end.
[link] =Looking Kinda FABULOUS
I admit; I never bothered watching Code Geas. BUT THIS IS FUCKING FABULOUS. I hate working with/cannot work with pink, so that someone can succesfully pull of something this good-looking in NOTHING BUT, I am really impressed!
[link] =Challenge - Atem
If the challenge was 'Make Poet Gay for Atem', then this was a big 'ol winnar. That's some pretty goddamn awesome--and much more plausible--hair. And we all know how I am about hair. The positively luminous coloring of the eye is a nice perk too.
[link] =Imhappyplz=
REAL MEN WEAR PINK.
THIS MAKES ME SMILE SO LOUD.
10.
HAY ELSI. BEWARE OF WEREWOLVES AND GOD-EATING CRAB MONSTERS. LOLOLOL.
[link] =Vivid Sunset=
I know, I know. Sunset pictures are a dime a dozen in these parts. To me, this is still one of the ones that stands out as special. Despite the title, I love how subdued the sky's colors--the contrast they provide with that last piercing flash of sun is what REALLY makes this a 'vivid' image. Loveleh.
[link] =Japanese Gardens 1
I'm just going to agree with Elsi here--this belongs on a postcard. Now. Just a serene, peaceful little slice of the world. VERY GREEN!
[link] =Gateway to Eden=
Images with light contrast always delight me. The way this one just opens right up past the gate is nice.
[link] =Raging River=
I don't know what kind of lighting you had to get this effect, Elsi, but the saturation in this picture makes me so very happeh. That violent, toxic blue sort of makes you wonder if yon 'raging river' isn't about ready to spawn up some horror from beyond the pale to let us all know how mad it REALLY is. Vrrr, unnatural color shifts, how I love thee~
11.
[link] =Human...=>
This has long been a favorite of mine. The shadow and grain is fantastic, but the best part far and away is that hollow, quietly mad stare. Though it can be difficult to pull 'unnerving' in anime art, this does it quite nicely. The smile is a perfect touch.
[link]=My Favorite Doll=
Regardless of my feelings on this pairing (I think it's adorable), this picture is very cute and sweet, and it makes me smile. I, too, would love to have a Manjoume plushie.
[link] =mystica=
I have no idea what fandom this is, but this picture is so elegant and pretty.
[link] =nightmare pain=
I've always thought that Yubel was pretty damn sexy, but I sadly seem to be in the minority there. The execution of this shot though suggests that even if I am alone though, there are at least people willing to pander to me! S/he looks amusingly feminine here, but also decidedly, delightfully coy and sweet. It's almost possible to forget s/he is a raging sadomasochist looking at such a disarming picture. Also, the back. I looooove a nice back. And did I mention that Qu-ko always does the lovliest hair there ever was?
12.
Boldly working with awesome characters no one else has the balls to.
[link] =Ekoubel=
I cannot even BEGIN to express how much more epic season 3 would have been had Yubel hitched a ride in Ekou instead of some/any of the people s/he did end up using (Martin, Amon, Johan). And if the way s/he dressed Johan is ANY indication of her fashion sense, I'm pretty sure this is exactly what the result would have been.
[link] =GTFO, Yubel=
FFFF. This is awesome, as is the fanfic it is semi-based on. I remember reading that one and laughing my everloving ass off. Both Ekou's exasperation and Jubel's giant cheeseeater grin are just comedy gold. They need their own sitcom, stat.
[link] =Taniya as a Child=
Another fandom minority I'm in--I REALLY LIKED Taniya. DancingKirby is very very often the sole source of my fix on this character; she's great about providing good fanart and fanfiction of such an underloved character. I always love 'back in the past' type stuff, and though canon refused to pander to me this time I do have darling pictures like this and its associated stories to tide me over. Cheers to you for feeding my addictions.
[link] =Kink Meme Story...Addiction=
speaking of addictions. The dedication and dysfunction, the absolutely unhealthy obsession, of Amon and Ekou's relationship is painted in broad bright colors and crowed from the mountaintops in the series. But this dirty little whisper of a fic has all of that in so much smaller and more innocuous a package. I love this pairing and it never gets played with, especially for the clusterfuck that it is. The GX kinkmeme may be largely dead, but little gems like this will always make me glad it lived however briefly.
13.
[link] =5Ds Meme=
I may not like 5Ds, but I DO like Divine. In fact, I will watch 5Ds episodes if they contain Divine; I will even watch them more than once. This meme is full of Divine; it is therefore epic. The ruffly green suit always makes me cackle. (FFFFFF at Divine and Zechs and CROSSDRESSING LULZ). Aki in a suit vest is also wonderful perk. Batshit insane jailbait though she may be, I love me some women in suits. Rowr.
[link] =Arcadia Movement's Miss=
Further evidence that Rule 63 makes everything more awesome. The only possible way to make Divine more evil and manipulative would be to give him estrogen. Scary!
[link] =Happy Valentine's Day=
All together now--AWWWWWWWWWWW. Adorable Teeny!ArmsDealer and Teeny!Bionuke!
[link] =Imapervplease=
LOLOLOLOL. I WEAR THIS EXPRESSION ALL THE TIME. By far the most awesome ID I've seen in a long time.
14.
MOST AWESOMEY AWESOME TO EVER AWESOME.
[link] =Longpig is Loooooooooong=
I SWEAR TO FUCKING GOD I WILL GET THIS MEME TO CATCH ON.
If anyone needed proof that Kurai and I are not safe to leave together without responsible adult supervision, well, here it is.
[link] =The Tanner, The Butcher=
Oh jesus his faaaace. I am well aware that if I ever took this man home with me it would be the last thing I ever did. But I would. No regrets. Needs Moar Briar Eclipse. Also, I just love how Kurai draws people.
[link] =Your Boyfriend's Gay=
Speaking of how Kurai draws people...BODY LANGUAGE. HE HAS IT. Also, just about the best smarmy, skeevy expression I have ever seen. I aspire to be able to draw skeeve this well.
[link] =Reflected Aria=
First of all, Kurai is seriously the best-looking guy I wish I could say I really knew. He has both a wonderful face and great hands. Second, his cosplays are always, always awesome. So naturally, I glee a little inside whenever he puts up a cosplay photo. I was a little torn of which to put in this feature, since they're all so nifty, but then I came across this slogging through my DA inbox. Not only great cosplay, but a perfect photomanip. Best Saiou picture EVAR.
ALSO, EADGAHDLFJBLAH EVERYTHING. If you aren't looking at his entire gallery, you are doing it wrong.
15.
[link] =Straight :ArtTrade Lactis666:=
I actually am one of what seems like the few people in the fandom who thinks both of these characters actually ARE straight, no matter how many times they make me question their sexuality. BUT OH SWEET GOD THE CUTE IT BURRRRRNS. This was about where I decided that someday, I would do an art trade with MazeruOkinata.
[link] =44. Wings=
Preposterous wings fetish, gogogo! I love wings, as well as backs, so this is a little of a 'glee, flail!' picture for me. Also, the hair looks so soft and shiny~
[link] =FuRy :for Blue-Eyes-Girl:=
Anyone who has ever told me they think I draw cloth folds well needs to look at this picture immediately, because Fubuki's shirt is damn well delicious. Honestly, I just like this one.
[link] =Embracing the Darkness=
Even though it's the cover for a doujinshi covering a pairing that makes me want to headbutt a kitten, I like this picture a lot. The balance and composition is nice, and Judai and his flipside are both well-drawn. The haaaair, I love haaaaair. Also, seal of approval for setting it in Freaky Mirror-Brain Land!
FILLED!
